Quality & safety
Quality and safety, in plain terms
A wooden toy is a simple object with a long list of things that can go wrong: a splinter, a loose part, a paint that fails migration, a carton that says the wrong age. These are the checks we run.
Design and age grading
Every product is assigned an age band before it is sampled. The band decides the small-parts rule, the warning text and the carton marking. A product for the under-3 market is designed so that no part can break off and fit a small-parts cylinder.
Materials
Water-based paints and inks, tested for EN71-3 migration. Timber is kiln-dried and checked for moisture before machining. Hardware is coated for the destination market.
Testing
EN71-1/2/3 for the EU, ASTM F963 and CPSIA for the US, and CE marking. We test per model and keep the reports so a buyer can hand them to a customs broker or a retail compliance team.
In-process and pre-shipment
Checks happen at cutting, sanding, painting, assembly and packing. A pre-shipment inspection confirms dimensions, finish, hardware, warnings, barcodes and carton marks before the container is sealed.
