FAQ
Frequently asked questions
The questions buyers ask before a first order. If yours is not here, send it — we will answer it and add it.
Build & Construct
What piece counts work best for retail?
For retail shelves, 20–50 piece sets sell to parents, 100+ piece sets sell to schools and playgroups. A 36-piece hollow block set is a common first order.
Are the blocks compatible between sets?
Unit blocks follow standard proportions within a range, so houses and roads can be built across two or three SKUs. If you need cross-set compatibility we will match dimensions before sampling.
Can blocks be painted to our brand colours?
Yes. Colour matching runs from a Pantone reference to a water-based paint sample, usually within 7 working days, and the paint is tested for EN71-3 migration.
What is the typical MOQ?
20 pieces per SKU for stock colours, 100–300 pieces for a full custom colourway or printed box.
Learn & Sort
Can we buy classroom quantities?
Yes. Many Learn & Sort SKUs are ordered in 50–200 piece classroom cartons. Mixed cartons across SKUs in the same range are possible.
Do the materials come with teaching cards?
Some do, some can be added. Printed activity cards, number cards and instruction sheets can be produced with your artwork or ours.
Are the paints saliva-safe?
Water-based paints are tested for EN71-3 migration, which covers mouthing and saliva exposure. Reports are available per model.
Can you match an existing Montessori range?
We can match dimensions, colours and finish of an existing material. Send a sample or a dimension sheet and we will quote the tooling.
Puzzles & Brain
Can we print our own artwork on the puzzle?
Yes. Send vector artwork or a high-resolution file; we will supply a print proof and a die line before production.
What piece counts are typical?
Toddlers: 4–12 pieces with knobs. Preschool: 24–48 pieces. Older children and adults: 100–500 pieces.
Do you make floor puzzles?
Yes, up to about 60 × 90 cm assembled. Carton size grows quickly, so we quote floor puzzles by carton rather than by unit.
Are the puzzle pieces safe for mouthing?
Age grading follows EN71 and ASTM guidance. Under-3 puzzles use larger pieces with no small parts and non-toxic print.
Pretend & Role Play
Do large items come assembled?
Most play kitchens and dollhouses are flat-packed for container efficiency. Assembled packing is possible but changes the carton and the freight cost.
Can the kitchen be produced in our colour?
Yes. Painted panels are colour-matched, and the printed backsplash or worktop can carry your artwork.
What is the lead time for a custom kitchen?
Sampling takes 7–10 working days; production is usually 25–35 days depending on the hardware and the paint colours.
Can we order a mixed container?
Yes. Most of our buyers mix categories. We will build a loading plan and a carton list before production starts.
Baby & First Toys
Are the teethers food-grade?
Teethers are made from untreated or food-grade-finished hardwood and are tested to EN71-3. We do not use lacquer on mouthing surfaces.
Can we sell these on Amazon?
Yes, but check the destination market's requirements: CPSIA and CPC documentation for the US, EN71 and CE for the EU. We supply the test reports we hold.
What is the smallest order for gift boxes?
Printed gift boxes usually start at 500–1,000 pieces because of the print run; stock kraft boxes are available from 20 pieces.
Do you make personalised baby gifts?
Yes — engraved names, printed gift boxes and custom tags are all possible on the baby range.
Games & Logic
Can we localise the rules sheet?
Yes. Send the translation; we typeset it to the box format and proof it before printing. Languages we have printed include English, German, French, Spanish and Japanese.
Do you supply the game pieces in a bag?
Yes — cotton bag, drawstring bag, or a fitted insert in the box. Bag printing is available from 500 pieces.
What board sizes are standard?
From a 20 cm travel board to a 40 cm table board. Larger boards need a bigger carton and are quoted by volume.
Are the games suitable for schools?
The logic and memory games are; we can supply classroom cartons and rule sets for group play.
Art & Music
Are the instruments tuned?
Xylophones and glockenspiels are tuned to a diatonic scale. Drums and shakers are checked for tone and volume consistency rather than pitch.
Can instruments carry our brand?
Yes — laser-engraved or printed logo on the body, and a printed box or cotton bag.
What is the MOQ for an easel?
20 pieces for a stock easel; 100+ for a custom colour or a printed board.
Do you supply replacement parts?
For classroom orders we can supply spare mallets, sticks and strings as a separate line item.
Open-Ended Play
Can we buy natural, unfinished sets?
Yes. Unfinished and oiled sets are both available. Unfinished wood is not suitable for mouthing under-3s unless a food-grade finish is specified.
How much colour variation is normal?
Natural hardwood varies in tone and grain between pieces and between batches. We sort for consistency within a set but cannot make wood uniform.
What sizes do the loose parts come in?
From 20 mm coins to 200 mm rainbow boards. Small parts are age-graded and not sold to the under-3 market.
Can we create a custom loose-parts set?
Yes. Choose the shapes, counts, finish and bag or box; sampling takes about 7 working days.
Move & Ride
Are the outdoor toys weatherproof?
Timber is sealed for outdoor use and hardware is exterior grade. We recommend a cover or indoor storage in hard winters; no wooden toy should sit in standing water.
What is the weight limit on a balance bike?
Most wooden balance bikes are rated to 30 kg. The rating for each model is on the product page.
Do you supply assembly instructions?
Yes, in English as standard; other languages can be added from 300 pieces.
Can we order a container of one item?
Yes, though most buyers mix 3–5 outdoor SKUs with indoor cartons to fill the container efficiently.
